What a CanDid interview actually involves
About fifteen minutes in your browser, in English or French. Here is every step, what is recorded at each one, and who ends up seeing it.

Add your resume
We read your skills and experience from it so the questions are about your work rather than a generic template. You can replace it whenever you like.
- 2Consent
Agree to what happens next
Before anything starts you see what is collected and why. Transcribing and scoring your answers is the part you have to agree to; recording video is a separate opt-in you can decline and still interview.
- 3Setup
Check your camera and microphone
A 30-second check: allow the microphone, allow the camera, and confirm you can hear the test sound. Nothing is sent anywhere during the check.
- 4Interview
Answer six to eight questions
The interviewer asks a question out loud, you answer by voice or by typing, and follow-ups dig into the examples you give. You get 90 seconds per answer, with a timer showing what is left, and you can end the interview at any point.
- 5Scoring
Answers are scored against a rubric
Each answer is measured against the same written criteria as everyone else's, and the score is recorded with the reasoning and any concerns behind it. Afterwards you get written feedback on your own interview; the numbers themselves go to the hiring team.
- 6Review
A person reviews the result
The score is evidence for a human reviewer, never a decision on its own. No one is rejected or hired by the software.
- 7Sharing
You decide who sees it
An employer sees an interview because you shared it with them. Withdraw that at any time from your account and it takes effect immediately, including for reports they generated earlier.
Before you start
Worth having ready:
- A microphone and a room quiet enough to talk in.
- A camera - it is required, and the interview ends if it is covered for too long.
- Chrome or Safari on a laptop or desktop.
- 12 to 15 minutes without interruption.
- A typed answer is always available if you would rather not speak.
If something goes wrong
Losing your connection mid-answer does not end the interview - it reconnects and you carry on. You can also end the session yourself, and each assessment allows a limited number of attempts, shown before you begin.

Ready to try it?
Start with the general practice interview: it is built from your resume like any other, but it is never shared with an employer, so the first run does not have to count.
